What does it mean to say that we believe in One Holy Catholic Church?

I don’t know about you but when I recite those words, it’s so mechanical that I pay no attention to them. By why should we believe one holy catholic church? I believe in God, Father Son and Holy Spirit. But why the Church?

Well think of this beautiful image given to us by the Church Fathers “Church is like the moon, all its light reflected from the Sun” where Christ is the Sun, the light that must shine for all men. Everything the church teaches stems from Christ and the Church must reflect that light to all men.
